Tips I Learned From My Out-of-State Moving Headache

I still can't think how dumb I was. I finally made my dream task and all I had to do was pack up my things and move from my household's house in Macon, Georgia, to my new home in Mountain View, California. Speaking of bills, I totally forgot to change my forwarding address. That meant that my credit card bill didn't arrive. I got hit with late charges for it. I could have easily avoided this mistake by signing up for paperless service. That wasn't my only change-of-address screw-up, either. I got pulled over by a California law enforcement officers. He pointed out that my license plate wasn't updated. Then, he pointed out that I had an out-of-state driver's license and registration. When you alter states of house, all 3 of those files need upgrading. I needed to pay a $175 ticket and then over $500 for the new licenses. Just since I got a new job doesn't mean I'm made of money. Why do the polices not understand check here this? As soon as I lastly got sensible to the reality that I required to upgrade everything, I also tried to update my car insurance. Would you think they would not let me at very first?! I needed to send them a whole tree's worth of documents in order to persuade them I 'd moved. They notified me that I 'd have to pay more for insurance coverage in a greater danger state. Likewise, I 'd have to pay more until my car passed the California emissions test. Think what? It didn't! My precious 1996 very American muscle automobile is too much of a gas guzzler to pass the environmentally-focused state emissions test. I'm going to have to pay more till I purchase a new vehicle. What have I gained from my experience? Literally one hour of preparation might have conserved me lots of time and thousands of dollars. All I had to do was update all my forwarding details, remedy my billing information and mobile phone contract, and notify my insurer about the modifications. Then, another hour approximately at the California Department of Motor Automobiles would've fixed all my license and registration issues. Since I didn't do this, I needed to invest a number of days at a dive motel, got mocked mercilessly by my buddy, and lost a lot of loan I might've invested in new furniture for my new house phone.
